Wollongong's Keira Place developer unveils plans for hundreds more apartments
The next stage of the Keira Place mixed-use precinct will deliver hundreds of new apartments alongside ground-floor retail in what the developer calls a model for confronting the housing crisis.

The developer behind Keira Place has revealed stage two of the precinct will deliver more than 400 new apartments across three buildings, with construction expected to begin in early 2027.
The mixed-use scheme between Keira and Atchison streets has been pitched as an example of 'what addressing the housing crisis actually looks like' in regional NSW, combining build-to-rent, build-to-sell and affordable housing in one block.
Wollongong City Council has welcomed the proposal but stressed that the design will be subject to the same scrutiny as other CBD towers, including overshadowing, traffic and contribution requirements.
If approved, stage two would lift the precinct's total apartment count above 800, making it one of the largest residential developments ever delivered inside the Wollongong CBD.
