Help shape Council's vision for a thriving Wollongong City Centre
Wollongong City Council is asking residents and businesses to weigh in on a new package of planning controls aimed at delivering a 'vibrant, well-designed and sustainable' CBD.

The draft City Centre Planning Proposal, now on public exhibition, would refine the height, setback and design controls applying to development between the railway line and the harbour.
Council says the controls are designed to encourage active street frontages, more public open space and a clearer hierarchy of buildings around Crown Street Mall.
Submissions are open until late June. Council will host two community drop-in sessions, one in the Town Hall and one at the Innovation Campus, before reporting the outcomes back to councillors.
Property Council Australia has cautiously welcomed the proposal but warned that uplift and contribution settings need to remain competitive with Sydney's middle-ring markets.
