'Cold' for meth: key player in Wollongong drug operation pleads guilty
A drug dealer found slumped behind the wheel of a running car with a shotgun, drugs and thousands of dollars in cash has pleaded guilty to a string of serious offences in Wollongong District Court.

Robert Dowey appeared in Wollongong District Court on Tuesday and entered guilty pleas to multiple charges connected to a major police investigation into commercial-scale methamphetamine supply on the South Coast.
The court heard police seized a so-called 'chemist's notebook' detailing supply, debts and chemical recipes when Dowey was arrested in 2024.
Prosecutors said the operation involved at least four other identified offenders and stretched from Wollongong to Sydney's south-west, with cash receipts running into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Dowey will be sentenced later this year. He remains in custody.
